The Daily Kos: STILL United 4 Iran

July 22, 2009

Excerpts from a post on The Daily Kos, July 22 – As domestic issues of paramount importance have taken precedence over the last several weeks the violence against the Democracy movement in Iran continues unabated. Protesters are still facing unspeakable brutality for merely seeking the opportunity to suggest a different path forward. As we debate the future of health care in this country, we can not allow our solidarity with this movement to be drowned out because it is continued world attention that fuels the spirit and serves as a megaphone for their cries of freedom. Join this unprecedented wave of global citizen activism in solidarity with the people of Iran. On July 25, participate in an event in one of more than 60 cities around the world. Find out how else you can help. … Human and Civil Rights! Isn’t that what its all about? Isn’t this the foundation of liberal activism? Support for such incredible courage does not end at a boarder, it does not fade due to other issues becoming important! People know what awaits them but they still (right now) are willing to lose their lives in order for their voices to be heard. Click below to see if there is a scheduled event near you and please come out and show the Iranian regime that the world is still watching! See the full post at its source: The Daily Kos
