Firuzeh Mahmoudi discusses her unique experience at the intersection of technology and civil liberties at Oslo Freedom Forum. Motivated by the massive street protests that rocked Iran following the presidential election in 2009, she tells the story behind the Global Day of Action — the largest day of solidarity ever for the people of Iran. She went on to start United for Iran, an organization that uses apps to advance gender equality, fight corruption, and inform voters in Iran.
