Nasrin Sotoudeh’s husband, Reza Khandan, told the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran, “After the first court session, which was last week, we have not had any news from my wife. I only know that she is no longer on a hunger strike and knowing this makes me happy.” Khandan continued, “Now I have to wait until Nasrin’s second court session on Wednesday and hope that I get a chance to see her on that day. For now I am just waiting for Wednesday, and everything depends on the court which will convene in three days.” Nasrin Sotoudeh is a lawyer and human rights activist who has defended prisoners after the disputed 2009 election. She has been in prison since 4 September and was on a wet and dry hunger strike for most of this time. Her first court session, which she attended with her lawyers, was held last week.
