“What we are seeing is unprecedented. We have never seen such a widespread, woman-lead and woman-focused movement, perhaps in the region. Women throughout the country as well as men behind them are standing up with one cohesive message. We want body autonomy, we want our country back and we want freedom. The chant they’re using that is so inspiring is “Zan, Zindagi, Azadi.” Which means, “Woman, Life, Freedom.”
