Mahsa Amrabadi is a journalist who was arrested by security forces during 1 March gatherings. Her mother, Maryam Amrabadi, told the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran that her daughter contacted her at home. “She was well and said she was told that she would be released in the next few days. She was hopeful, too, that she would be released by Thursday, so that she can go to visit her husband,” said Maryam Amrabadi. “She was very well; after our conversation, she called her aunt, too. Like she told me during her first contact, she repeated again yesterday that her arrest was a misunderstanding which would be resolved and she will definitely be released tomorrow or the day after. We are waiting for her to call us to go to Evin Prison gate to pick her up,” said Maryam Amrabadi regarding her daughter’s spirits. Mahsa Amrabadi is journalist Massoud Bastani’s wife. The couple were arrested a few days after the 2009 presidential election. Amrabadi was released on bail after two months, while her husband was sentenced to six years in prison and sent to Rajaee Shahr Prison in Karaj.  A lower court sentenced Amrabadi to one year in prison and she is currently awaiting the results of her appeal.
