Originally Published 7/17/2009 I’ve always been moved by community based movements but never had the privilege of being a part of a multi-generational purely grassroots movement this way. Yesterday, I touched base with people in so many cities, large and small, all over the world. Ordinary people everywhere of all ages and backgrounds are working on this cause and dedicating their time and energy to make this day happen. It’s moving to hear from people everywhere but what touches me the most is when we hear from a person from a small city such as Bagnacavallo (Italy) taking action and organizing an event involving distribution of hand-made wristbands made from green cotton tape. As a revered colleague and teammate from this movement always says: “This is not an Iranian problem, it’s a human problem.” -Omidvar, City Organizer
