Dear friends,
I’ve always believed that art is the heart of activism –– it shows us how our lives are connected, challenges our preconceptions, and moves us into action. That’s why our team is honored to co-organize an event this weekend with the Clarion Mural Art Project titled: In Honor of Iran’s Political Prisoners –– a month-long, multi-faceted project of art, literature, and performances in remembrance of the hundreds of men and women who have been taken as political prisoners in Iran.
On day one, we will unveil a mural featuring 7 Iranian women who have been imprisoned for their activism, including lawyer Nasrin Sotoudeh, environmental activist Niloufar Bayani, social and civil activist Sepideh Gholian, and others. We like to think of this mural as a living Iran Prison Atlas –– a sober reminder of those we continue to fight for, and an invitation for others to join us with their hearts and hands to build a better future for human rights in Iran and beyond.
If you’re in town, we would be honored if you can join us for the unveiling of the mural on October 6th.
We appreciate all the heart you’ve given and continue to give to this movement. |
