A source close to the case of prisoner of conscience Nazanin Khosravani told the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran that after more than 80 days since her arrest, the Tehran Prosecutor has finally granted permission to Khosravani to have weekly telephone contact with her family. According to the source, during her first short telephone call to her family, the imprisoned journalist reported of the prison authorities’ efforts to alleviate the problem with the cold cells inside Ward 209. “After last week’s complaints, we have both warm clothes and blankets now. Prison authorities have covered all the windows, and blocked cold air from entering the cells,” she said. Over the past several weeks, some prisoners had reported of the unsuitable heating conditions of cells inside Ward 209. Nazanin Khosravani also told her family that she has high morale going into her trial court, and she hopes that a fair court would listen to her words, eliminate the misunderstandings, and acquit and release her. Nazanin Khosravani was arrested on 2 November 2010 at her home. She will be tried on 1 February at Branch 26 of Tehran Revolutionary Courts.
