As we close out a memorable and challenging year, we remain ever committed to evolving our efforts to improve civil liberties in Iran. That’s why we’re excited to announce the launch of IranCubator 2.0, a new round of our acclaimed global contest for developing tech that promotes social good in Iran, slated to start in early 2020.
After a vigorous selection process in late 2016, about a dozen groundbreaking mobile applications were selected as winners of the inaugural IranCubator contest. They ranged from applications that support women’s health to resources for victims of domestic violence, recovering addicts, parents who want to better protect their children from sexual abuse, and much more. We’re proud to say that to date, the apps created through our IranCubator program have been downloaded over 700,000 times and used for over 250,000 hours. The contest was also covered in renowned media outlets including Forbes, Washington Post, WIRED, and VICE.
Stay tuned in the coming weeks as we release more information about IC 2.0. We can’t wait to be inspired by the ideas and innovations that come out of this next round.
Please consider making a year-end donation to help us continue our work in IranCubator 2.0 and beyond, towards the goal of improving human rights conditions in Iran into the next decade.
Happy New Year!
